Off to an adventure!

Woots! I can’t believe time flies so fast. It’s 5th September already! Tomorrow I’ll be embarking on a journey to Cambodia through AirAsia.
This will be my first overseas solo travelling trip (phew, that’s a mouthful) and I’m so nervous and excited at the same time! As I’m typing this, my heart is pounding so quickly! I can’t believe time goes by so fast that it’s almost time to go already. I mean, I’m not ready yet! There’s so much info I haven’t gotten yet. Like, where am I going to sleep in Ho Chi Minh? Or Battambang? Or anywhere else out of Siem Reap?
As I’ve said before on my travel cheats post, research is of the essence. I guess you can say that I didn’t practice what I preached. In fact, I just started researching about a few days after my exam, which is around 2nd-3rd Sept on where to go and how to put my travel itinerary together. Ugh, I really don’t recommend last minute work.
I’m also quite worried about my physical condition to be honest. I’m not the fittest of people and I’ll have to walk so far away! Jun Jie told me that he walked an average of 5km-10km per day when he was travelling. I can’t walk that far! Well, thank god for bicycles. I tried to see my limit this morning and I’m glad to say that I can ride 8km one way without feeling the strain on my elephant legs. So, I guess I’ll probably be able to ride a bike from my hostel to Angkor Wat, which is about 6km one way. Yay, savings!
But negatives aside, I’m so excited! I can’t wait to realize my potential as a great backpacker. Ok, just kidding. Jokes aside, I really can’t wait to go explore Cambodia. It will be my first time alone abroad, with no obligations to anyone else and I’m so excited! Everything is set to my preference and my pace. So I don’t have to walk till I collapse out of exhaustion just to catch up with anybody! Yay freedom!
I’m also super excited that I’ll get to meet new people. Granted, I won’t stay in a place for too long since I’ve only have a limited amount of time before going back home. I have the perfect plan. If I could get friends, it’s awesome! If it didn’t work out for me, it’s the perfect time to learn to be independent and kick ass on my own. I’m dependent to a lot of people for the whole of my life, so it’s awesome to have the opportunity where I’m forced to do shit on my own!
It’s gonna be nerve wrecking and scary and awesome and informative. I’m prepared for it. It’s gonna be an awesome adventure! See you peeps on the 20th! Peace yo!
